Car history: |
1968 Corvette convertible, car is Black with a tan interior and a Black top, has power brakes / power steering / power windows. Car runs and drives down the road quite well and gets its share of attention doing it. Car is powered by a 350 (non-matching numbers). Believe the motor to be a 1970 vintage 350, but research for yourself (block casting #: 3970010 / engine code CEA194733 / date code L 17 0).Have been told that this block casting # was also used for 1968 vintage 327s and that mixed with the CE engine code suggests engine could possibly be a warranty replacement engine, but not sure of that. Engine does have camel hump heads. 4-speed works properly and only has one minor quirk when downshifting but Im sure it could easily be adjusted out (doesnt affect drivability). Car has power windows that work, and the top goes up and down properly (manual). Interior is all there, but is of course showing its age. Most everything works except engine temp gauge and blower for the heater, but both of these should be easy fixes. Car does leak some brake fluid, so that will need to be taken care of. Car runs very smooth and engine has some hi-po modifications including Edelbrock Performer aluminum intake / Edelbrock carburetor (with working electric choke) / exhaust headers. Paint is amateur quality and is bubbling on the passengers front fender and the hood (see pictures). Underside looks good and no visible rust around windshield posts / etc.. Headlights pop up and work fine. Spare tire and factory carrier are still under car. ENGINE NUMBERS: BACK OF BLOCK DRIVERS SIDE: 3970010 / PASSENGERS SIDE: L 17 0 FRONT PAD ON PASSENGERS SIDE OF BLOCK: CEA194733 OTHER NOTES: Top goes up and latches up properly. I just partially put it up for the pictures. This car is always garaged so typically the top is left down. Odometer shows 79,900 miles..But cant guarantee that is correct. Could be more..Could be 179,900?? Car has a cheap older aftermarket stereo and sub box..Neither work very well. Color codes from hte trim plate. Built date is C02. Ready to go at $12,000. March 27, 2012. |
